How to Layer Summer Clothes for
Fall and Winter Lesson #3 Colorful Skirts
Here is my final addition to this series, and it's not too late to use your colorful spring/summer skirts before the weather warms up!
And what a better time to pull you through this last cold stretch?? Let's bring on the essence of spring by wearing happy colors :)
In this post I am going to show you how to wear your vibrant skirts N-O-W!
"Spring/Summer" Color Skirts
I have this J Crew pencil skirt in a bright yellow. I absolutely adore it. Even just looking at it in my closet brightens my day...
I took my bright yellow pencil skirt (J crew) and paired it with my vintage powder blue blouse (found locally at Good Style Shop), moto jacket (one like it), warm black tights, and black Steven boots.
So here is the breakdown:
Step 1 Tuck in Blouse to Pencil Skirt (Don't forget to pull the blouse down from under the skirt!)
Step 2 Add your favorite blazer or jacket (I prefer an edgy jacket with my skirt to balance it out)
Step 3 Add heel or wedge boots (Tights if it's chilly outside)
BAM! That is how it is done. Now go out and make your day better with a fun bright skirt!
P.S. A floral or bright patterned skirt would work well too...give me a glimpse of what you have and how you are doing to layer it to bring on spring! Pretty ppplleeeease!!! xoxo
P.S.S A special THANK YOU to Laurels and Stars Photography for these fashion images!
BRAVA Magazine - February Fashion Feature
I am beyond grateful be a part of this amazing experience collaborating with these beautiful and talented women. I am honored to share with you the fashion feature in Brava Magazine this month!
Co-produced and photographed by Laura Houlihan of Laurels and Stars Photography, Makeup and Lash extensions by Barb Zanzig of BZ Artistry and Papillion Beauty, Hair by Rachel Gutzdorf of Comb Studio. Oh yeah…and styling by yours truly ;)
Although it was a little challenging to style myself for a shoot like this (sometimes awkward and weird), it was so much fun! But, there is one little (hilarious) mis understanding I need to clear up for my readers. Brava was so kind to interview me, as you can see on the final page of the spread in "ABOUT THE MODEL". When they asked, "What are you most looking forward to wearing this spring?" My response was, "I have a velvet maxi dress that I am really excited about." But, my rookie mistake was not clarifying that it is NOT a maxi dress made out of the material velvet, but a maxi dress by the designer label Velvet. It should have been written "I have a Velvet by Graham & Spencer maxi dress that I am really excited about." So you all don't think I have gone off the deep end to fashion crazy land and decided that wearing a velvet maxi dress is the thing to do this spring, I assure you this dress is white and made out of a very soft jersey fabric. Ha!
Thank you for the loving comments and support throughout this project. May my regular blog posts commence…
P.S. I have my favorite look…but I would love to hear yours! Which look did you like the most?? I am on pins and needles to know… xoxo
