How to Layer Summer Clothes for Fall and Winter - Lesson #1 Tanks and Maxis
Buckle up…Get ready...I am going to break down the wall that separates your spring/summer wardrobe from your fall/winter wardrobe.
In order to layer like a champ, it's important to marry them together forever in holy fashion matrimony. In this series, I will ultimately teach you how to get that perfectly layered look without the bulk AND show you that the pieces you thought where done until the weather warmed up are still very much workable…EXCITED?!
Me too ;) Let's do this...
Sheer High-low Tank
Black Maxi Skirt
I mixed these two summer pieces together, the sheer fabric of the tank makes it easy to tuck in and layer. I grabbed my favorite jean jacket, Sperry riding boots, and a fun wool floppy hat. The belt was helpful in giving a focal point for my waist and adding extra interest to the outfit. Now that the weather is getting cooler, you could absolutely do thick tights or leggings under the skirt. Helpful for covering up fair legs too…not that I have those…just saying...
Looking at your summer tanks, maxi skirts, or maxi dresses with new eyes? Good! The same principles apply if you swapped out the maxi skirt for your leggings or skinny jeans. Or replace the sleeveless tank for a sheer long sleeve blouse or thin long sleeve knit… See?!
More layering ideas to come…
A big THANK YOU to Laura Houlihan of Laurels and Stars Photography for covering this series! You are amazeballs!!!
P.S. Do you already mix your wardrobes?! What do you like to do?

I was fortunate enough to get my greedy little hands on one of the leather bags Nicholas will be featuring at the show...
Mmmm…Beautiful rich brown leather…
Can you tell I am in love?? I was so eager to get my hands on the bag that Nicholas didn't have time to make the detachable cross body strap! I guess you'll just have to go to the show to see that…
This bag comes in these dye options (from left to right): Red, natural, goldenrod, teal, silver, and black. The one I am holding is medium brown. No two bags will dye the same…every one is unique, just like you...or the loved one you give it to.
The NS stamp of approval…NICE. Sweet magnetic closure.
This is the shot I am using for my "Miss Holiday" pageant submission…just kidding…I wanted to see if you were paying attention ;)

Everyday Skin Makeup Tutuorial - Video Blog
Wow…All I can say is "Wow!". Thank you for your feedback, questions, and encouraging comments. I am so honored that you are reading and watching these posts!
Now without further adieu, I am going to share with you the next step in my makeup routine, Skin. More specifically, how to apply foundation, concealer, and powder.
I have extra tips and the products/tools I use listed below the video. Enjoy!
Step 1. Moisturize - Glo Therapeutics Conditioning Hydration Cream
Step 2. Foundation - Jane Iredale BB Cream I use level 3. This product runs fair, I am normally a level 1 in other product lines (shocker!). If you need help selecting a shade, I would suggest going to see an esthetician that carries Jane Iredale. Locally in Madison, I go to see Lea Dolan-Stronek at Lemke Facial Plastic and Cometic Surgury. She is also great for skincare recommendations. I had struggled with adult cystic acne for years, my skin has completely cleared up after following her advise. Plus she has great all natural anti-aging products ;) **She also carries the Glo Theraputics products and could help you choose the right moisturizer for your skin.
Application tools : Jane Iredale Sponge (Beginner friendly!), MAC #190 Foundation brush(Beginner friendly!), MAC #187 Duo Fibre brush (Airbrush without a motor ;)
Step 3. Concealer - Jane Iredale Circle Delete
Step 4. Powder - MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Translucent powder
Application tools:#138 Face Brush (all over powder application), #217 Brush (for under eye) - I know I used a #239 in the video, but this is the one I normally use for setting my concealer with powder.
This wraps up my everyday skin makeup tutorial! I am so excited to hear your thoughts and answer your questions. Please leave a comment below!
P.S. Was this video helpful? Did you also enjoy the Everyday Eye Makeup Tutorial?! Do you know of anyone that would like to learn these basic makeup techniques too? Great! Please share and send the blog along to them! I would so appreciate it…XOXO
