*Bonus Blog* Inspired by Lace in a Magazine
I got my hands on three of my favorite magazines this past Saturday. The June Issue of People Style Watch, the June Issue of Lucky Magazine, and the J Crew May Style Guide (thank you for sharing your J Crew Lu!).
I was inspired by so many fabulous looks in all of these magazines, but there was one in particular I just
HAD to share with you! Last week I did a blog post on the spring trend doily lace. In my Lucky Magazine I saw another great idea for how to wear lace that I wanted to execute with items in my existing closet :) So I pulled out a few of my pieces and created my own combo that I haven't tried before.
Here is the image that inspired me. Scanned from my Lucky Magazine:

So cute, right?! I had a few items I thought I could work with. I also wanted to make this look a bit more me and appropriate for my body shape.
Here are the items I had...
This sweet little lace shift dress. I have been really happy with how easily I can dress it down with boots and a jacket...
Basic chambray camp shirt. This style shirt is extremely versatile, you can wear them open, closed, tied at the bottom, layered...etc.I pull this out a TON.
These are my basic boho wedges. I LOVE the shoes the model is wearing in the Lucky look. They are like a men's saddle shoe. But, I also know I am not a 6 ft. tall model with legs up to my ears (I am 5' 1" on a good day), I need a bit more height with a shorter skirt and what better way to add some than a wedge? Plus, they feel a bit more "me" :)
I really like the cream moto vest too, but I don't own one, so I improvised with what I had. I like how everything turned out :)
Here is the completed look(s):
The camp shirt is buttoned. It's hard to tell in the pics, but you can see a little bit of the lace peaking out at the neckline of the shirt and the bottom of the sleeves. The fun little details make a look interesting...
I had a lot of fun with this one :) I hope it inspires you to grab some pieces out of your closet and play with them in a whole new way!
P.S. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts...which look did you like the best? How would you make the Lucky mag look more YOUR style?
