Happy Happy 2016!!! *~!~foghorn~!~* *~!~confetti~!~* *~!~balloons~!~*
For many of us, this is a time to reflect on the past year with gratitude, honesty, celebration and acceptance. 2015 may have brought you trial and pain, joy and breakthrough, or a strange and beautiful blend of both.
Whatever your 2015 cocktail was, the beautiful feeling the New Year brings is ultimate hope. Hope in a new start, new change, new opportunities, new adventures. It is like waking up the next morning after a bad day with new perspective and fresh eyes...but allowing for even more optimism and ambition to guide your choices.
I have a few changes I will be making in 2016 in regards to my work, industry, and personal core values. I have been moved with compassion at the situation and am looking to take up my small part in creating change.
I had the opportunity to open up my heart and eyes even further to the downward spiral the fashion industry has taken over the past 20 years. The disregard for the earth, quality of lives, and ultimately life itself being taken by the industry. A great film "The True Cost" is a documentary film exploring the impact of fashion on people and the planet. It is also streaming on Netflix . It is a recommended watch for sure.
I am not interested in making anyone feel bad for their choices. Up until now, my choices have been the same. I take clients to the big box brands as well as purchasing there myself.
Here are some small resolutions I am am excited about committing to in 2016.
I will only be purchasing clothing and accessory items that fall under these categories:
I will be sharing the gems I find under these categories throughout the year! I am very excited to explore new options that help love and respect others, strengthen our local economy, and take care of the earth.
Sending you warm wishes for your 2016 resolutions and goals!
P.S. Calling all the veterans on this topic...please please please share your personal favs under these categories! That would be greatly appreciated :)
P.S.S. What are your resolutions for 2016?! I would love to know...is it to treat yourself with more kindness, give more time to family, make room for your passions, move your body more....? xoxo
