A Message to My Lovely Readers
Before we dive in, there are a few things I would like to address. This might not be the case for all of you, but I do find some resistance in swimsuit shopping from clients I work with (myself included).
My point in doing this post is to make the process in finding a swimsuit enjoyable :) First, we need to learn to love and accept our bodies as they are and choose to accentuate our best features. Second, de-emphasize the areas we are not so thrilled with.
Please remember these tips when shopping for your swimsuit:
Swimsuits that minimize your bust and tummy.
If you have slimmer arms and legs, but a curvy upper body, the swimwear below will help draw attention to your best assets.
The ruching detail on these suits give a blurring effect to the bust, hips, and tummy causing it to "camouflage" these areas. Notice the line over the bust is straight across with no plunge or V. The neckline is nice and open to show off your decollete and shoulders. LOVE these nautical inspired suits!
This tankini draws attention to your lovely arms, neckline, and legs. It gently floats away from your body camouflaging your tummy.
Swimsuits that minimize your tummy and accentuate your bust.
If you are looking to accentuate your bust and camouflage your tummy, these next swimsuits will be helpful in giving you a lovely silhouette.
The ruching detail on these suits give a blurring effect to the tummy. The sweetheart bust line with the nice keyhole detail draws attention to the bust area. These suits have a very classic feel and the halter strap is removable :)
Swimsuits that give you more curve
If your body has little curve and you would like more of a hourglass shape, these swim suits will help.
Because of the horizontal stripes, these bikini tops will accentuate your bust. The same effect will happen on the bottom, the horizontal stripes will even out your bust to hip ratio giving you a more curvy appearance.
Swimsuits that flatter your hips
If you seem to have trouble getting a swimsuit not to dig in to your hips or bum, I have a solution! First, buy separates so if you need a smaller top and a bigger bottom you can get the perfect size for both. Second, find either a fold over waistband, tie waistband, or one with a wide waistband. All of these styles are a little more forgiving on the hips. The fold over waistband and wide waist molds to your body and a tie waistband allows you to size it to fit your hips.
Swimsuits that accentuate your bust
These swimsuits do their very best to lift, separate, and create a larger appearing bust. Woo-Hoo!
Swimsuits that minimize your bum
If you have a bodacious bottom half, these swimsuits will give you some fun options.
Boy Shorts like these will give your booty a little more coverage. I also recommend doing a solid color on the bum if you are looking to de-emphasize it.
Skirts are a great way to flatter your booty. Here are a few bikini skirt bottoms.
Here is a cute pair of cover up shorts. These are so sweet and feminine :)
I hope this info was helpful! Have fun shopping for your next swimsuit for Spring/Summer 2012 :)
P.S. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or questions about swimsuits. I would LOVE to hear from you! xoxo
